2007 has come to an end! On our last Lycos 50 of 2007, poker continues its reign as the top search term of the year, followed by golf and fashion. The South Beach Diet breaks into the top 10 this week, with web users preparing for the New Year's resolutions (and recovering from holiday feasts). At #7, the South Beach Diet is the most popular diet on the Lycos 50 followed by Weight Watchers at #38 and the Atkins Diet at #39.

Paris Hilton, at #10, made headlines this week when it was announced that her grandfather, Barron Hilton, would donate the majority of his $2.3 billion to his family's foundation, the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, which supports causes like housing for the homeless and education for children with disabilities. This, of course, compromises Paris' "heiress" status, though it is doubtful we will see Paris trading in her Bentley or moving into a modest one-bedroom with Tinkerbell. She (believe it or not) supports herself with a multitude of endorsements and her own clothing and fragrance lines. However, it pleases us to see that Barron Hilton's fortune will be going to those who really need it rather than funding Paris' hair extensions.

What is Paris doing for New Year's Eve? Reports are saying that she's been spotted cozying up to Kevin Federline ... perhaps they'll be sharing a midnight kiss to ring in 2008. Jennifer Aniston (#41), meanwhile, may be celebrating the new year with a new man in Mexico with her friends, Courtney Cox and David Arquette. Pamela Anderson (#17) is hosting a year-end bash in Las Vegas at Caesar's Palace, and Britney Spears (#11) ... well, who knows what she'll be doing? Maybe laying the smackdown on Paris for stealing her man.
