You Rate The Toys: 2000
Last year we took a look at the top toys for the holiday season. It's getting to be that time again, so here are the most popular toy searches from last week.
Like last year, there are two lists - top toys and games, and top specific computer and video games. We didn't include the anime empires like Dragonball and Gundam Wing because so few of these searches are specifically for toys and action figures. However, we have no doubt that Dragonball and Gundam toys are quite popular this year. We did include Pokemon because many of these searches are specifically for the Pokemon games.
TOP TOYS AND GAMES

Two items which look strong but didn't make the top ten are robotic dogs and finger bikes. Robotic dogs are small computerized toy dogs which can learn commands and tricks over time, without needing to be housebroken. Popular brands include Tekno the Robotic Puppy and Poo-Chi by Tiger Electronics.
Finger bikes are little miniature model bikes which kids can use to simulate "extreme" bike tricks. You can also find finger boards, which are miniature skateboards.
Like last year, our list contains a lot of classic toys that remain popular as fads come and go. Speaking of fads, 1999's trendy Furby is nowhere to be seen on this list.

Well, those wrestling games sure are popular. Each of these games is part of a larger series with the exception of The Sims, which has been 2000's big new hit, and Tetris, which has amazing staying power.
It's fairly interesting that while Playstation 2 tops the list of top toys by a large margin, specific Playstation 2 games like Madden 2001 and Tekken Tag Tournament are very low on the list of specific game searches. |
