For the past 20 years, John Walsh hosted "America's Most Wanted," resulting in the capture of 966 fugitives to date. Following the murder of his son Adam in 1981, John has dedicated his life to fighting for the rights of violent crime victims. His efforts culminated in the signing of the "Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act" last year, a law designed to track convicted sex offenders after they leave prison.

We recently had the opportunity to speak with John as he discussed November episodes of "America's Most Wanted." In the Nov. 10 episode, the series traveled to Hawaii to investigate the murder of John Elwyn, and in the Nov. 17 episode, the show goes to London to investigate the case of missing toddler Madeleine McCann.

After 20 years of "America's Most Wanted," John says that he's "never been busier" while working on the series as well as funding for the Adam Walsh Bill. "Twenty-five years ago, I had no idea what a pedophile was," John said. He believes that it is "great that we are talking about it" now, but that we also "need to make tougher laws for serious, repeat offenders." More knowledge and discussion about these crimes are key to protecting ourselves and our children against them.

Of his experience with "America's Most Wanted," John comments that he is most proud of the "41 missing kids we helped recover." He points out the recovery of Elizabeth Smart as a personal high point. "I'll never forget that."
