Top summer flicks definitely had an impact on the types of costumes we are likely to see prowling the streets this year. Harry Potter is the top character costume search this year, followed by pirates (likely inspired by Captain Jack Sparrow) and Spider-Man.

Spider-Man tops the superhero costumes that are of interest this year with Superman and Batman trailing behind. We suspect that next year might feature a resurgence of interest in Batman with "The Dark Knight," the sequel to "Batman Begins" opening in July of 2008.

We are likely to see girls dressed as fairies, Wonder Woman, Disney princesses, and Dorothy from the "Wizard of Oz," all classics that tend to appear year in and year out.
