Slap Hillary!

Ever wish you could just slap Hillary Clinton? Apparently, you are not alone among Lycos users.

So far, while there has been a lot of interest in the Presidential election, the only Senate race drawing much online interest is the one for New York State between Hillary Clinton and Rick Lazio. Clinton, by far the most searched for senatorial candidate, received as many searches last week as Garth Brooks, The Beatles, or the hit movie Remember the Titans.

Lazio, her opponent, received only 16% as many searches as Hillary did, or as many as singers Sheryl Crow and Billy Gilman.

41% of searches for Hillary Clinton are actually for a website called SlapHillary.com, which offers a chance to smack an animated Hillary across the face. The site?s creator, conservative columnist Richard Poe, calls this "a public service for the terminally frustrated; the truly outraged; American women who are sick of betrayal; and for the just plain mean-spirited."

Poe claims the site got five million hits within the first five days alone. Who knows, perhaps if Hillary is elected his site can become a long-standing internet favorite like Elf Bowling, the late 1999 favorite which still gets searches today from the terminally frustrated and just plain mean-spirited who are tired of elves.
