One to Watch: Jessie Camacho
Each season of Survivor has seen a breakout star who climbs up the search logs. It's not necessarily the person who wins, either.
No, the breakout star each season seems to fall into the "America's Sweetheart" category. In Survivor I it was Colleen Haskell, who followed up her Survivor fame with a starring role as Rob Schneider's love interest in The Animal. Survivor II brought us Elisabeth Filarski, who has plenty of fans too (but no movies yet).
After one week, it is clear that the breakout "America's Sweetheart" of Survivor III will be Florida sheriff and former beauty queen Jessie Camacho. Camacho received more than three times as many searches as any other Survivor III contestant this week.
Camacho was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Orlando when she was 14 years old. Not only is she currently employed as a deputy sheriff for Orange County, Florida, she is also a junior attending the University of Central Florida. As for that beauty contestant part, Camacho was crowned "Miss Puerto Rico, Orlando" at age 16.
The only other contestant to get a reasonable amount of search traffic is the man who could be this year's Colby -- Los Angeles bartender Silas Gaither. He's young, good looking, and the previews of this week's episode show him playing politics with alliances.
