Halloween Oddities With Halloween now at #1 on the Lycos 50, let's peek at some of the more curious Halloween queries we're getting this month.
All of the following queries got at least 100 user queries last week, and while they aren't necessarily outlandish, they do show some of the odd things people consider as October 31 approaches. From most popular to least:
Infant Halloween Costumes
Believe it or not, this is one of our users' most popular Halloween queries. (We also see lots of searches for toddler costumes.) Tons of people, it seems, are out there dressing up their 5-month-old baby as... well, as what? Dracula? Baby Frankenstein? Or something even more frightening?
True Ghost Stories
Ain't that the wonderful credulous Web for you: "Don't show me those fake ghost stories, give me the true ghost stories!" A tip: just don't expect anything too true.
Halloween Tombstones
Well, you've got to look somewhere for those wacky epitaphs.
Knotts Scary Farm
Yup, it's a real event: the annual split personality of the Knotts Berry Farm amusement park in LA. That's all well and good, but honestly: 40 bucks for a haunted house?
Halloween Safety Tips
Who knew there were so many Websites about Halloween safety? ("No one should drive while wearing a mask...") You can even find holiday safety tips for Fido. ("Candy is for people, not pets.")
Halloween Drag Costumes
Well, what more can we say? It's a popular topic. Still, how many Liza Minellis can you have at one party?
Halloween Contact Lenses
This is a new one on us. You can buy freaky movie-style contact lenses to go with your leopard-print or alien outfit; the most popular brand seems to be Wild Eyes. Apparently they've been around for a few years, but they look like a big item this Halloween.
Vampire Fangs
OK, not so surprising. But isn't it nice to end on a comforting old old favorite?
