Some newcomers have hit the Lycos 50 this week. "Brady Bunch" star Maureen McCormick makes the top ten due to the rumors that have been floating around that her upcoming book "Here's the Story" will reveal that she had a lesbian fling with costar, Eve Plumb. "Desperate Housewives" star, Eva Longoria, also appears on this week's list. Last week, Eva's sex tape - which is actually a parody of Paris Hilton's sex tape - hit the Internet and caused searches for Eva to skyrocket (probably from those looking for an actual sex tape rather than a spoof).

Eva's series, "Desperate Housewives" has also recently returned for its latest season and has received some controversy from Filipinos, who were unhappy with a derogatory remark that Teri Hatcher's character, Susan Mayer, made against Filipino doctors. Some are even calling for people to stop watching the show. Does anyone even care about this series anymore? "Desperate Housewives" is as 2004 as John Kerry. The producers have since issued an apology, however. I would also appreciate it if they issued an apology for the second season's excruciating Applewhite subplot.

Oprah Winfrey (#37) is in the news for various reasons. Oxygen Media, which includes her cable channel, was purchased by NBC Universal for $925 million. She was also listed as #1 on Forbes' list of the 20 Richest Celebrities in Television followed by Jerry Seinfeld and Simon Cowell. Seinfeld only made $60 million, while Winfrey cashes in at $260 million earned over the past year.
