With Halloween mere weeks away, Halloween searches have begun to skyrocket. "Halloween costumes" are the most popular search, receiving 56% more search activity than "Halloween sayings." "Halloween quotes" is our third most popular Halloween-related search query, which makes us wonder if people are looking for an alternative to "Trick or treat" this year. (Why mess with a classic?)

Teachers are most likely looking for "Halloween printables" and "Halloween coloring sheets," while "Halloween contact lenses" are probably a hot commodity for those planning their costumes.

Speaking of costumes, the Lycos 50 also looks at the top Halloween creature searches this week. Witches are our top search, inspiring only 9% more interest than vampires. Ghosts are in a more distant third as witches are 132% more popular search-wise.

I typically find that most people have very passionate feelings with regards to their favorite creatures. Personally, I am a vampire girl. How could anything be cooler than a vampire? They're handsome, seductive, live forever (barring any unfortunate staking incidents, of course), and can turn into bats. So cool!
