The regular season of baseball (#18) ended Sunday, with the Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians finishing with 96-66 records. Tampa Bay ended at the bottom with a 66-96 record. Though the Boston Red Sox lost on Sunday to the Minnesota Twins, they still clinched the AL East division title and will play their first play-off game against AL West champion, the Los Angeles Angels. The New York Yankees are entering the postseason as a Wild Card, having lost the division title to the Red Sox for the first time since 1995.

In other sports news, Brett Favre has become the NFL's (#15) career leader in touchdown passes, surpassing Dan Marino's record. Favre helped lead the Green Bay Packers to victory against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, keeping the Packers undefeated this season.

The game Halo 3, which was released last week, appears on the list for the first time, and also is most likely responsible for a surge in interest for the Xbox.

Halloween breaks into the top 10 this week. To celebrate, here is some trivia about one of our favorite holidays:

The movie "Halloween" was made in only 21 days in 1978.

The Irish originally used turnips to carve lanterns; pumpkins came into use when early American settlers found that they were much more plentiful.

October 31st is the last day of the Celtic calendar; Halloween is said to have originated from the Celtic festival of "Samhain." (As a side note, the term "Samhainophobia" refers to a fear of Halloween.)
