Geena Davis makes a stunning debut on the Lycos 50 at #11 after doing the Jennifer Lopez thing in a barely-there dress at the Emmys. (Guess that?s one way to hype your new TV show.)
The Emmy Awards squeaked by Geena at #10; top searches included Emmy winners, pictures, and fashion.
In other award show happenings, Latin Grammy presenter Jennifer Lopez (#22)?whose outfit, incidentally, was somewhat subdued, and performer Christina Aguilera (#24)?whose belly-baring outfit was not?both got a boost up the list.
The Latin Grammy Awards just missed making the Lycos 50. Not bad considering this was the first year out for the Grammy offshoot.
Other Lycos 50 notables:
OLYMPICS REIGN
The Olympics blew away the competition to remain the Lycos 50 champ. Searches for the three Olympic mascots?Olly, Millie, and Sid?have been almost nil. Guess those three just don?t garner the excitement of Atlanta?s infamous Izzy.
BASKETBALL BAD BOY
College basketball coach Bobby Knight makes his first appearance at #47 after being fired from
Indiana University for repeated ?defiant and hostile? behavior, including a recent incident where he grabbed and harassed a freshman student.
