It seems ironic that interest in Britney would grow after she delivered perhaps the worst performance of her career at the MTV Video Awards last Sunday. Britney sang "Gimme More" and danced in her sequined underwear so listlessly - like a limp ragdoll, people, seriously - that web users were in frantic search of the video all week long in order to make fun of her. Meanwhile, Britney is still battling her ex, Kevin Federline, over custody of their two kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, with many in her entourage being served with affidavits. Rumors are also saying that she has been banned from the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles. Is her career over for real now or what?

The NFL season, appearing at #11 began with some scandal when a video assistant from the New England Patriots was caught filming New York Jets' defensive signals. Patriots coach Bill Belichick issued a statement of apology, saying that he made a "mistake" in his interpretation of the rules. (Surrrrre, Bill. Did the dog chew on that section?) Belichick was fined $500,000, the team was fined $250,000, and Belichick was ordered to turn over the tapes. The scandal didn't have much of an effect on the Patriots thus far, as they beat the San Diego Chargers 38 to 14 on Sunday night.
