Meet Billy Gilman
If ever a singer deserved the nickname "Lil" -- a la rappers Lil' Kim and Lil' Wayne -- it's Billy Gilman. But they don't do the "Lil" thing in country music, so we'll just have to call him plain ol' Bill.
Gilman, in case you haven't heard, is the hottest thing in Nashville novelties since Achy Breaky Heart.
Gilman is a 12-year-old, four-foot-seven singing wunderkind. His album One Voice was released this summer, and the single by the same name made him the youngest person ever to hit the Billboard Country Singles Chart. Now he's a search hottie as well: last week he got as many queries as Dick Cheney, Mia Hamm or even wassup. Hey, you can't get much more au courant than that.
