Well, the summer movie season isn't even over yet, and here we are with our fall movie preview. It is rare for fall movies to stand out on our search logs, but this year we have two that are garnering lots of early attention. One's a scary movie, and the other is a Scary Movie.

The first of our two Ones to Watch is Underworld, a horror film which not only brings Romeo and Juliet into modern times but turns the Capulets and Montagues into vampires and werewolves.

There are a couple of reasons why people are talking about Underworld already. For one thing, it mixes genres with something for everyone -- special effects, horror, romance, and action. In addition, actress Kate Beckinsale was recently hailed as the next big thing on the cover of Entertainment Weekly, and she's the film's biggest star as a female vampire warrior.

Underworld searches have tripled over the past three weeks. The film opens September 19 and you can see the Underworld trailer at Lycos Movies.

Two weeks later, on October 3, comes our other fall film to watch, Scary Movie 3, which now gets four times as many searches as it did two weeks ago. This third installment of the satire series will branch out past horror to spoof the recent run of fantasy flicks like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. They'll also take aim at The Matrix: Reloaded with George Carlin parodying the character The Architect from the end of that film.

Carlin's not the name in the cast you will recognize. Actress Anna Faris reprises her role as the film's lead, but small roles will be played by Lycos 50 icon Pamela Anderson, one-time Lycos 50 icon Jenny McCarthy, hot rap star Ja Rule, comedian Eddie Griffin, singer Macy Gray, actress Denise Richards, actor Charlie Sheen, and the king of parody films himself, Leslie "Frank Drebbin" Nielsen.

Dimension Films clearly expects this one to be a big hit, because they started filming Scary Movie 4 right after Scary Movie 3 wrapped. That one's now set to hit theatres in early 2004.
