Who is Lindsey McKeon?
We're serious here. We can't figure out why in the last three weeks McKeon searches have quadrupled, doubled, and then doubled again. She was more popular last week than teen pop star Mandy Moore or WWF pinup Trish Stratus.
We know that McKeon is an actress. We know that she hasn't been in a lot of stuff. She was on the teen show Saved By The Bell: The New Class. She had a recurring role in the sitcom Boy Meets World. She was in the series The Opposite Sex, which was a little-seen FOX midseason replacement in 2000. This is not the resume of a hotly-searched hottie.
Her latest project is the cheezy USA Network movie Class Warfare. McKeon's character, Kristen, persuades her boyfriend to kill a classmate for his winning lottery ticket. According to the USA Network website, "Their twisted obsession soon propels them into a vicious cycle of lies, greed, and murder -- and finally, to a jaw-dropping twist of fate they never anticipated."
Wow, we've got goosebumps.
Now, a current TV-movie could be a reason for a search boost, but we've never seen a b-grade cable movie increase searches to this extreme. The movie itself received only a handful of searches last week, and McKeon's co-stars hardly received any.
On top of that, the McKeon searches started before the June 26 original airdate of Class Warfare. So, the movie could be part of the reason for McKeon mania, but there has to be something else.
We racked our brains. Appearing in the latest issue of Maxim? Not as far as we can tell. A cast member of Star Trek: Enterprise, perhaps? Nope. A budding music career? Once again, no.
We scoured the Web for traces of McKeon, but to no avail. Her website is impossible to navigate and looks like it hasn't been updated in a year. We searched her site for a phone number or address to ask questions for this article and couldn't find anything. The website doesn't even mention Class Warfare.
Honestly, we are totally and completely stumped. If you have an answer to our McKeon dilemna, please email us and let us know. Then email Lindsey herself, if you can find her, and tell her that if she is getting famous it may be a good idea to update her website.
