One to Watch: 3 Doors Down

3 Doors Down is the hot young band du jour with web searchers.

According to Rolling Stone, "the Escatawpa, Mississippi-based rockers scored a surprise hit single when 'Kryptonite,' a song from a self -produced CD, started receiving heavy airplay on a local radio station."

Now the boys have a big new album out, The Better Life, and fans seem to be eating it up. Last week 3 Doors Down got more Lycos user searches than old warhorses like Pink Floyd and the Grateful Dead -- plus they also beat out fresh hotties like Faith Hill and Shakira.

Three seems to be a popular number in entertainment, by the way. Besides 3 Doors Down we also see searches for the bands Three Six Mafia and Three Dog Night. And last week 3 Doors Down got five times as many searches as the Three Stooges, 15 times as many searches as the TV show Three's Company, and nearly 30 times as many searches as the Three Little Pigs. That's fast company.

To hear the music of 3 Doors Down yourself, try our downloads page. Or if you like you can flat-out buy the album from our chums at Barnes & Noble.
