Caprice Bourret is perhaps the most surprising name here. She's a French model who often works under just the name Caprice. Of course, web searches for "Caprice" could be seeking Chevrolets, too. But based on observations of related searches, we've assigned 80% of all Caprice searches to Ms. Bourret, moving her to the #5 spot. Without those searches she'd be ranked #13.
In general we seem to see a layer of the "old guard" from 1-10, with relative newcomers like Gisele Bundchen and Estella Warren filling out the top 20. It's rather surprising, really, that names like Cindy Crawford and Elle MacPherson are still in the top 10 after nearly two decades on the glamour scene.
A few former faves who didn't make our top 20: Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, Christy Turlington, Niki Taylor, Frederique, and Wonderbra sensation Eva Herzigova.
A final note: we tried to include here only women who are famous as legitimate models, leaving out those who are famous mainly for Playboy, WWF or "fitness" modelling. Sometimes these were tough calls to make, requiring a certain amount of serious research, but of course it was all necessary for the greater good of human knowledge.
